A couple of pics of outside 1/4 scale tearoom (interior posted previously)

Wicker chairs made from cake wire and embroidery thread, bench from cut matchsticks as are steps. Plant pots are beads and plants and flowers are a mix of dried moss and flower soft. With exception of flowers on porch roof which are tiny artifical ones that have been painted.

A closer view of garden. I think the bench needs a cat sat on it.

I didn't know where to put this, so I plunked it here.......

Long, long ago I built a Maine lobsterman's Victorian cottage.

The lobsterman's name was Amos Gooch, and when his beloved Persis abandoned him to run off with the man on the flying trapeze from a traveling circus, he packed his duffle and sailed away into the morning sun.

I've dusted off Amos's cottage and I'm finally going to finish the darn thing.

Part one is now on the New England Miniatures blog.

I know that it's only June but it's never too soon to be thinking of Christmas!

I have a lot of seed beads to sell so I've been thinking of ideas to use them and I thought of Christmas tree baubles - nice, simple and quick.

You need seed beads in your desired colour, I used gold and 6 beads per bauble plus a number of headpins - I've created 10. I used 1 inch headpins otherwise you will be wasting a lot. The only tools you need are long nose pliers and wire cutters. A bead mat is useful ...

I did name some of them while introducing one of my dolls, but I thought it might be handy to list some of the most useful things I learnt during the years I dressed dolls.

Ummm, I am NOT a pro , just a simple doll dresser "on the kitchen table ".

1.

Some dolls are bigger than others , like human beings. Some patterns are developed for really petite dolls and you may find that the pattern might not exactly fit your doll.

Cut the pattern from kitchen paper or such and look ...

Where I live, our biggest craft store is Michaels. I love their $1.50 hutches which you can take apart to bash into something new. The easiest way to that is to warm the glue in the microwave. I now know the length of time between when the glue becomes pliable & the wood singes: it is the moment before you return to the kitchen!

Having taken my burnt Michael's hutch bottom apart, I decided that it wouldn't suit what I wanted afterall.

So taking the CPU, I drew a box on paper to fit ...

Everything is inside a clock dome

The chair is made thanks to a tutorial by CDHMs Barbara Vajnard. The design on the party bag is a tattoo. The gift bow is 1/2" diameter. On the table (made of a thread spool, cardboard top & 3 button feet) are 2 noisemakers, cards, flowers & of course the cake.

The noisemaker ends are off a perfume sample sprayer rod; the cards are home made printies; the flowers & vase ...

take one finding:

bash a Michaels hutch into a hanging shelf and a change table:

....and result is:

HANGING SHELF: the car was on a pencil; Pooh was on a hanging; the gardening bunny came from an Easter tree; the A,B,C were buttons with the backs sanded smooth

I made my own printies, photographing the actual packages & then "Photoshopping"

Hi

When my mom’s 70 years birthday came up, I wanted to write a song to her birthdayparty. The songs should be hidden in a box, but I wanted the box to tell something about my mom. She has a lot of hobbies, needlework, card-making, sewing, embroidery etc.

The only box I could find at that time, was a heartshaped one.

I put a table and a chair on it, and a lace pillow on a stool. The lace pillow I made out of a piece of a wooden button and some of the fancy toothpicks.

Then ...
