PostSubject: Developing a self concept!   Sun May 22, 2011 9:00 pm

Among the most important aspect of a doll's growing persona, or self identity is the development of self-concept: the sense of self that includes both self image (the doll's inner picture of herself), and the self esteem (her sense of self-worth). Although these terms are often used interchangeably, they actually refer to different aspects of the self.

From the moment of birth, the doll is engaged in the dynamic process of becoming herself. The doll continually develops into a whole person with a temperament, personality and value system. It is an engrossing process that will take a lifetime to complete, but its early stages are perhaps its most crucial, for they set a pattern for all that follows.
