| Thank you ! The Kendrew was about the last from this firm I could snap up before the firm went out of business ( as I have been given to understand ). the houses are really beautiful , well - built ( though HEAVY !) . I am still working on it. It is standing on a verrrrry sturdy coffee table I bought for it to stand on- and let the hulks who broght the table in, put the house onto it - I can't even get any movement into it .... You can see more pics of it here : https://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/ellyandyael/kendrew%20house/ Cheers, Elly ( my sig line has gone out of business again... ) | |

| Hi Elly
I am new to forums and I have been looking at your photos of your houses and am so impressed, if I can create a house anywhere as nice as your Kendrew house I will be extremely pleased with myself. Can you tell me about the marble looking staircase and doorframes. Did you make these yoursel for buy them from a retailer. Thanks Janine

Janine , sorry only responding just now, but I was busy with lots of things ( went to the Soest fair on Sunday and had to recuperate yesterday ) The marble in the hall in the Kendrew house are simply plastic, the self- adhesive kind you can find in DIY and household stores. I did not do that part myself; I bought this house second- hand. the previous owner had cut tiles from marble-clad cardboard. The stairs were painted in a marbleizing effect ( which is very easy, really. Just use a plastic - type undercoat in white and then start marbleizing the usual way. It looks spectacular ). The doorposts were also marbleized by painting. Hope this helps ! Cheers ! Elly (Amsterdam)
